Call for Submissions: Outdoor Feasts in the Wild

Intro

Food tastes different under the open sky. A campfire sparks stories, a shared meal forges bonds, and flavors mingle with wind, rivers, and silence. We invite creators to capture this magic—where nature becomes the kitchen and the table.

What We’re Looking For

Narratives of outdoor cooking as a cultural or personal ritual.

Explorations of flavors shaped by wilderness—from alpine soups to desert teas.

Stories where recipes meet memory, identity, or community.

Photography or essays that reveal how food and nature intertwine.

Submission Guidelines

Long-form manuscripts, memoir-style reflections, or photo-rich essays.

Original works only; English or bilingual manuscripts welcome.

Length: 20,000+ words for book projects, shorter pitches considered for series.

Send your proposals or sample chapters to editorialoffice@outdoorobserver.org . If you have any questions before submitting, feel free to reach out via email—we’ll be glad to hear from you.
